Matthew Chaves is a California native who attended the Brooks Institute of Photography near his hometown in Santa Barbara, CA. After graduation, Matthew moved to New York City in 2007.  There he spent the next seven years as an apprentice in the industry with a renowned still life photographer before starting his own studio in 2014.  

Matthew Chaves now maintains a full commercial still life photography studio, with major clients from around the globe.  Current works showcase major beauty and fragrance brands, with clients from both advertising agencies as well as brand creatives.  Matthew is known for the execution of brand vision with an intact photorealism an appreciation for authenticity.  Always adapting, he's also worked with motion, channeling the crisp aesthetic that client's have come to appreciate in still life to video. In the role of director, he seeks to bring authentic, dramatic still-life campaigns to life with precise motion capture films and animations.
